senseisagasu.com-skypeレッスン(03/07)

・i refered to the several samples to write resume.
・how to organize resume
・i was surprized that english resume is free format.
・i was interviewed by some magazine publishers.

・so the purpose of writing the resume was to show your oversea branch?
・it isn't needed for applying the working visa.

・if the resume which i submitted is passed, the abroad stuff will write up the resume.
・so what i need to do is to write the draft only.
・but i heard that it'll take at least 3 weeks to finish the acquiring working visa.

・I will leave Japan in May at the earliest.

・why do you think there is this difference?

・the format of japanese resume is standardized.

・you gave me some good examples. i learned english resume has a lot of flexibilities.
・cuz they want you to, even though have many templates, they want people to be able to use creativity, and express themselves in the resume.
・according to different types of work, you may change the order.

・i realized that i can change the order of subjects. and i just remember that i don't need to write my birth date and put my phot on the resume.
・i guess the rule of english resume seems to be affected the low which the U.S government created.
・cuz U.S is multinational. so there is a law which companies should judge from race.
there is a law to prohibit any kind of discrimination.
・i can learn the differece of culture between japan and U.S by this proceeding.

・you mentioned there are other things you'd like to talk about. what else do you like to talk about today?

・i throwed a lot of questions at the person in charge about this handling.

like you mentioned, i agree with you. i think that 'trip' implies very short journey/travel.

・i realized that i'll be able to take english training by cash handout.
・although i had a lot of unknown things and worries about international removal, i could resolve some issues through the communication.

what kind of important informations did you find out?

・the most important information is how to get international car license.

◆I've never doneとI haven't doneの違い
・one thing i just cut off our talking be careful to say 'i've never done somthing for a long time', if you use 'never', that means 'zero'.
・so instead of that, what should you use?

→ I haven't driven a car in a long time

・if you say 'i've never', most english speaker will understand that what you mean isn't 'never' as zero-time. like you said, please careful about this.

・so instead of practicing in japan, have you considered going to driving school in U.S and practice there?

・i can't settle down the issue. cuz i didn't ask the question to the perssonel person.

・i think that if you have an international license, you don't need to take a law test again. but it could be useful to you.
cuz, like you said, there're a lot of differences of driving between japan and U.S. even the signs can be very different.
・it'll be useful for you to get some practical experience for driving in U.S.
・i think it could be useful so even maybe not now i konw you're very busy now, even after you go to U.S.

・my colleague who works at overseas blanch informed an useful webpage about the traffic rules in U.S to me.

・ryutaro, i have a question for you. when you study at nova, did you talk about differences between 'you should', 'you could', 'you have to' like to give suggestions? for example, when i told you that it's good idea. after that, you told me that i had better study ***.
・'had better' is one way you can give suggestion.

・the reason why i often use 'had better' is because i learned it many times in my high-school days.

・many of my clients at gaba also like to use 'had better'.
・for native speakers, it will be rarely used. cuz the difference between had better and should is that the former is 'no longer and symple suggestion it is almost like a command. if you don't choose some otherchoises and you think that this is right answer, you must do it'. on the other hand, the latter is 'i think it's a good idea. but you have choises. i'm not ordering you to do something.'.
・you type in commands to your computer which you want to do.

・which is stronger expression had-better or must?

・had better is like command. if i say 'you had better study', it is like i'm more superior to you.
・must is usually used in rules. if i told you 'you must do this'. but i must do this as well. we're equal.
・generally speaking, native speakers don't use 'had better'. unless for example a mother talking to a son, 'you had better study or you will not get the allowance'.
・i just hope that. cuz if you use 'you had better do something' when you talk to overseas colleagues, it might create some kind of conflicts. cuz they might feel that you're very strange.

・mind map is very interesting way to create ideas or to memorize.
・the format of MM is mixed character and graphics.
・at first, write picture which is related to main-theme you want to think or memorize.
・next, write lines radially.
・next, write keyword related to main-theme on each line.
・the format is similar to our brain's structure.
・recently i often use Mindmap to get organized various things in my mind or create some kind of idea.
・in my case, i'm trying to use Mindmap to organize many to-do things for this temporary stay.

・i hope to make friends who are also into Mindmap through this presentation. so i'm trying to show my presantation data to colleagues who is likely to interested in it.

what is the purpose of the presentation?

・there is an interesting system to study each other in my organization. this is what is called 'workshop' or 'study-meeting'.
・we must give a presentation by rotation(turn). the last session was my turn. so i decided that this thema is 'mindmap'.
・i think that it's pretty interesting. cuz i like the idea that you share some ideas with your colleagues.
・although i can't understand the whole contents of each thema, it's good opportunity for us to get chance to know various things.

can you tell me what's the most memorable theme that you've been presented with?

・the most memorable theme is the explanation for fashionalble computer programming language. cuz i began to study the language after the presentation. i can master it to some extent.

・preposition is very diffucult. even native speakers sometimes make a mistake. cuz there are so many prepositions and so many ways to use it.
・for me, i think that it's very hard to learn for the rule. cuz in english, there are many many exceptions.
・tha's why, learning grammar is very difficult. i agree with you. cuz you're a programmer. the way of thinking.
・but like i said in our previous meeting, different people have different ways of learningl. cuz you're programmer. most programmers think very logically.
・to think in this way is similar to mathematical equations. in your case, the rule would be useful for you. cuz you can think about rules.
・for example, like me, i don't like math(learning language). it's easy way to read books. i like to read books. cuz i can read many many sentences in each times. it comes more familiar to me.
・i think that you can also try using both ways as well.

・if you have lessons with nova, please feel free to let me know what times we can arrange for more convenient time for you.
・i guess i will see you next time in japan!
・take care!

・are you really?
・i can't believe it.
・you're kidding.
・i think so, too.
・i agree.
・i see.
・i understand.
・i hope so.
・oh, no
